Hello, my name is Nir Rogovski. i was born and grew up in Kibbutz Tel-Yosef located in the Gilboa valley of Israel. The closest city to us was Afula which is famous for its roasted nuts and its falafel stop "Mifgash Golani" which had a hungry line any time of the day enjoying the show of the falafel master juggling the fried falafel balls with his metal tongue and catching them with the open mouth pita bread. after 6-8 balls he would stuff some additional chopped salad, and French fries and hand it to you to do the additional stuffing from the extensive choice if salads, grilled vegies, sauces and pickles. its the best street food in the world.
After years of cooking in NYC restaurants and being involved in the specialty food industry as a broker i now dedicate myself to importing and promoting fine Israeli food to the gourmet, natural and specialty food markets in the US. the challenges are many: public perception of Israeli foods, scarce resources and the Israeli industry lack of experience with design and marketing for the US markets. still, i am convinced that the food of Israel have a bright future in the US market and merited a place in every pantry.
